"Every time a special event crops up, the answer to the question \"where should we go to celebrate?\" is always Meat and Potatoes. \n\nSometimes I'll try to mitigate the compulsion to eat here and try somewhere new, but more often than not we'll end up tucked away in an intimate table at our old standby. \n\nEverything about Meat and Potatoes, from the obsessive attention to detail where cooking to order is concerned to the fantastic presentation of the food helps it maintain it's place on the top of our list. \n\nThe decor - a smallish place with intimate tables organized around a beautiful central bar in a very pre -prohibition era look - is reflected in their libations selections. And these bar tenders can actually mix drinks! Amazing! \n\nThe only possible downside is that, due to the open floor plan and the positioning of the bar, the place can seem a bit crowded and boisterous. If this does not jive with your idea of romance, choose a non-romantic reason to come. \n\nThere are only two \"bad\" seats in the house. A two top directly to the right of the entrance and a table along the curve of the wall that's really hard to get in and out of. \n\nWhat really, really makes this place for me is the service. The wait staff is always subtly there but not in your face. They're knowledgeable without being snotty and very attentive. \n\nThe menu features a range of delicious options and preparations like the sweatbread tacos make some more intimidating choices accessible to those who might not otherwise try them. \n\nAll things aside, the absolute best thing about this place is that I have never been dissatisfied with either food or experience. In all the years that they've been open, there has not been one time where I thought the quality was slipping and that is really something else. \n\nHope this was helpful!!!"^^ . . "0"^^ . .
