When I arrived after the ambulance, the ER staff had already gotten her settled and we're working on stabilizing her with medication. She ended up needing to spend the next 24 hours in the ICU before being released, and in all that time we interacted with 4 doctors, 1 technician, 7 nurses, 1 social worker, 1 billing specialist, 1 nurse practioner, and 1 equipment specialist. Every single one of these people were amazing - very gentle, compassionate, patient, funny, understanding, and extremely thorough in the care they gave and knowledge they shared. Every. Single. Person. I've had exposure to many different Healthcare professionals and facilities over the years with my family, and understand that being in Healthcare is a job, with good and bad days like any profession. What really stood out to me, though, is that everyone we met took care of my mom with the kindness they would give their own mother, and made sure to spend the time to make her and my family feel comfortable, heard, and educated in what they were doing, and what our options were. Special shout out to Andrew in the ER night shift, and Brett of the specialty care unit. Thank you both."^^ . . "0"^^ . "5"^^ . "0"^^ . "2017-08-11T00:00:00"^^ . .
