Restroom decently clean.\n\nWent in for a $19.95 oil change, which ended up costing me $24.45. What? Tax was $1.30. Also charged $2 for hazmat and an addition $1.20 for supplies, although no indication of what those supplies were. Why not just call it a $23.15 oil change if that's what it actually cost?\n\nI didn't ask this question, because I was totally overwhelmed when I left this place. \n\nA young worker had a handwritten list of \"issues\" the mechanic had found with my vehicle. The young worker tried to list off each issue, but when I kept asking \"What does that mean?\" to each instance of mechanic speak, he got frustrated and called an older worker to come to the counter and explain each issue to me. The man listed nine problems with the van and told me it was going to cost me over $2,000 to get them all fixed, but promised to send me a card for a 10% discount in the mail. (The card arrived, but it's only good for up to $100 off.) By the time the man had me convinced that my van wasn't going to make it two miles down the road, I was in tears. I could tell he felt really bad. I wasn't trying to play him; I was really upset.\n\nFamily members suggested a mechanic for me to take the car to for a second opinion. That mechanic took a look at my van and said I DID need front end work done, but said he could take care of it for around $700.\n\nDiscount Brake told me that I had oil and coolant leaks and if I weren't going to get those fixed right away (at a cost of several hundred dollars), I needed to check the fluids every other day. The second mechanic told me that there were so leaks, but they are so small (no fluid is even hitting the ground) that he wouldn't worry about them and to make sure I check the fluids at least once a month. \n\nDiscount Brake also tried to sell me fuel injection service for $110, but the second opinion mechanic says that's unnecessary if the vehicle isn't having problems. He said I could get a fuel system cleaner at Wal-Mart or a parts store and take care of that myself. \n\nAlso, the second opinion mechanic was very surprised by the high prices Discount Brake quoted me for repairs.\n\nI think Discount Brake saw I was driving an old van and decided to try to get as much money out of me as possible. I don't trust them, and I'm totally glad I got a second opinion."^^ . "1"^^ .
