Don't forget to get a frequent/LOYALTY punch card.\n\nThe smells are nice as you go through the mall. \n\nA sample is what sold me. I figured this was more like the traditional Sunday Brunch waffle type and never cared for such outside of brunch so that's why I stayed away. However, the sample had a crunch that told me this is different so I started to research and review the place. \n\nI learned of the styles and batter mix. I talked to the workers and was told the crunch is a ball of sugar. I'm not the sweet tooth lady but when the mood strikes - I want something and for that, I can recommend Cast Iron. \n\nI tried the biscotti type yesterday and it may work for others but solidified my top choices would simply be Lumberjack = Bacon & a syrup & the Slow Clobber which inlcudes berries that are sweet and tart to balance the sweetness of the waffle. \n\nI've read reviews from their original location and people complained it's too sweet. I must say - the kid pointed out how sweet this item is but continued to munch on. I personally didn't notice this waffle to be overly sweet via the sample or the Clobber kind. I look forward to getting the bacon style once it's clear to me if the bacon is freshly prepared or from a pre-packaged purchased item. This won't impact my choice to try it but will either lower or raise my expectations - that's all. \n\nAlso, I saw this from a local CLT list/group: Note to Owner and thought it would be useful to include on certain reviews such as this. So here goes, \nNote to the Owners: \n\nHey Y'all, \nI'm glad you all opened this type of cafe and I can see it going over well in places that I have lived and visited. I do want to highlight your manager at the original location (I believe Crystal) was prompt and professional in addressing my gift card request via our phone calls yesterday. Keisha (Pineville) was supremely a great choice in hiring. Although she is new - it would not be known because of her lack of skill or knowledge. Instead, she's poised, knowledgeably confident and represents the company well with service above par. It shows that she likes her job and I must say she is an asset to your team. \n\nI understand running a small home grown business is hard work and it's like birthing then rearing a baby so I get that when someone rates you with a lower star rating or make light of their experience or speak negatively that it can touch a nerve. I will say, your responses are judged/will be judged harder than anything a reviewer writes. In all honesty, it can be a turn off. So trust your product and team will continue doing things well and for the times they don't then do as you have written and make it a teachable moment to retrain. Just note that you reprimand a reviewer it doesn't always sit well. It's okay to speak your peace but not everyone will see it as intended. In short, you can't please everyone; yet continue to do what you do best and accept everything w/o taking it personal. \n\nTo your continued success and growth!\nMs. Joyce."^^ . "4"^^ . . "5"^^ .
