"I'm leaving a 5 star review because going to this CrossFit gym was extremely beneficial for me, and I thought I'd share the highlights.\n\nWhy I like THIS PARTICULAR CrossFit gym:\nThe coaches are phenomenal. Cody knows how to bring the energy up and is crazy knowledgeable. Jake -- same thing. Lily gets credit for most of my \"ohhhh, NOW I get it\" moments...and she was only my coach, like, 5 times in 9 months.\n\nI really appreciated that the coaches would push me to keep going, but also respected my risk-averse nature and fear of injury. They knew when to tell me to add 5 or 10 lb plates on and when to ignore/let me do my thing when I was acting like a flimsy little daffodil.\n\nThe location is also great if you live, work, or are visiting the touristy areas of Vegas. It's between Fremont Street (dowtown, old Vegas) and the Strip. Very close to Las Vegas Blvd.\n\nWhy I like CrossFit in general as a gym:\nMy cardio capabilities went through the roof (because those workouts are literally insane!), and I don't see how any other fitness program can get you to that point. They do the programming for you, you only have to show up. You'd NEVER do this level of work and stretching your limits on your own. As a former tom boy who misses sports...CrossFit was a great fit for me.\n\nBefore CrossFit, I knew an okay amount about how to use gym equipment and how to build strength, but now I know at least 4 times as much... In my opinion, learning more exercise movements and how to use equipment sticks with you for life.\n\nMy advice:\nI was against the 3 month newbie package initially, and was thinking about only purchasing the membership month by month to see if I liked it. But after being sore for a week after the very minimal free introduction class for locals, I figured it would take a while to acclimate to that level of work...just signing up for 1 month wasn't enough. After signing up, the maximum workouts I could do per week (MAXIMUM) was only two! Nine months in I could to the workouts 3 times a week... any more is exhausting to me and leaves me so sore it's ridiculous, which is part of the reason why I stopped, but I'm as brittle as a tea cup, probably didn't eat the level of protein I should have, and I've never been good at cardio (as in, I was always the slowest person in the class...ALWAYS!!!)\n\n...\nUgh, after writing this I am seriously tempted to go back, as I'm not nearly as fit as I was then, and have trouble with self motivation. I left to focus more on strength training, being able to do real push-ups, pull-ups, etc, but my progress has already stagnated. I like having this gym nearby as an option if I'm not able to motivate myself to lift on my own."^^ . "0"^^ . "2018-04-16T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ .
