"To be sure, Gerrard and Parliament is an unlikely location for an indie coffee shop of this calibre but that's what makes Mylk Uncookies such a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Especially since Jet Fuel really isn't a sit-down spot. You can really make yourself at home at this coffee shop.\n\nIt's a gorgeous caf\u00E9. The decor is very minimalist with white and aquamarine walls printed with black and white photography. Even though the floors are vinyl plank, they resemble ash-coloured wood and the furniture is stark white. The cafe is well lit with potlights and hanging pendant lamps. Great music too. Is that the Social Network soundtrack? Yes! (Also: is that Gentleman Reg sitting across from me? Holy shit, it is.)\n\nTheir espresso is pretty reasonably priced and it looks like they use beans from Social Coffee and Tea. They don't served brewed coffee but offer french press instead. I used my Indie Coffee Passport for a cup, and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. Really well made brew. \n\nIn addition to tea and non-caffeinated drinks, they also have a bunch of vegan and gluten free treats on offer including the eponymous cookies and uncookies. \n\nThere are not a lot of outlets available for those toting laptops but they do have free Wi-Fi. Oh, and the service here is ridiculously friendly. The patrons here are truly locals, and you really feel welcome here. Great spot.\n\nObligatory Title Pun: Come here for some MILK and COOKIES. \n\nMenu Readability: A small chalkboard above the cash. \n\nNeed to mention: Cash only.\n\nWhat this place teaches me about myself: I opened a caf\u00E9 it would be the exact opposite of this: warm, kind of grubby and seriously old-fashioned. And lousy service. I'd call it either \"Vivek's Cafe\" or \"L'Enfer Les Autres!\""^^ . . "14"^^ . . "8"^^ . "9"^^ .
