Recently, I took two of my visiting PhD student friends to giant eagle so that they could select a bottle of wine for their host family. One of them is 30 years old one of them is 35, and they were both carrying valid passports. The cashier would not let them purchase the alcohol because they did not have a drivers license. When I went up to purchase the alcohol for them using my giant eagle card my debit card and a valid US drivers license, they would not let me purchase the alcohol because she saw them hand me money for the wine. There was no apology, she just looked at them like they were idiots. It left a horrible taste in my international friends mouths. The manager stood there with a blank look on his face and didn't offer any words of consolation to them. Let me also mention that during the same trip to the store there was a full bottle of Woolite spilled in The aisle which I slipped and fell in, and when I asked that same manager if they had cleaned it up yet as we were leaving with no bottle of wine he rudely mentioned that they were getting it taken care of. He did not even bother to check and see if I was OK. I made sure to introduce my friends to Acme where they can easily picked out a lovely bottle of wine for their host family."^^ . "1"^^ . . "2"^^ .
