Unlike the 30 or so breweries crowding Charlotte, Neal and Anita Gimon decided to locate their establishment in Waxhaw, NC about 20 minutes southeast of Charlotte. \n\nThe great thing about Dream Chaser's, which opened in May 2016, is It's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the big city to be a sort of craft beer way station or oasis after a long week.\n\nI stopped in for the first time on a Friday afternoon after a trip to Lancaster, SC. By chance I arrived just as the doors at this 10bbl facility had opened and was greated by all sorts of smiles from the folks behind the bar. \n\nAfter perusing the beer menu and getting recommendations I tried their Red Rider Red IPA. Now that's a nicely balanced beer. Feeling a little courageous I moved on next to the Another Nail in My Coffin Pale Ale which was a wise choice. Very smooth and refreshing. \n\nI wasn't able to stay all that long, but in the time I was there, I met both owners, the brewer, and several members of the staff. Everybody was excited about their brews and everything they have coming down the pike. \n\nJust as a side note, I decided that this place needed a second visit when I could bring my wife along. We jumped in the car the very next day and headed back out to Waxhaw. Most of the same folks were working and just as before the experience was great. We both enjoyed some great beers and even better conversations. \n\nThis is a fantastic brewery that deserves more recognition.\n\nKudos. 5 stars all around. Only drawback is they don't serve food, but Waxhaw has plenty of great grub just a few feet out the door."^^ . "0"^^ .
