It boasts friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, modern, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, and free wireless internet. All located within walking distance of the biggest attractions in downtown Toronto. That said, the location also proved to be a big problem. It's located in the heart of one of the club hotspots of Toronto. My first night, I was in a room on the side of the hotel that was against a popular club, which included a loud outdoor section. Due to the fact that the club was surrounded by 4 to 5 story buildings, the sound - including extremely loud music, thumping bass and screaming patrons - was funneled very effectively all the way up to the 14th floor, where I was. I can't understate how loud and invasive this noise was, nor that IT CONTINUED UNTIL 3:30 IN THE MORNING. I'm in awe that an establishment with an outdoor area like that is allowed to operate so close to a large hotel, that it's allowed to operate so late, and that the hotel hasn't done a better job of soundproofing the rooms. They obviously are aware of the noise this establishment produces. I even went so far as to make up a bed on the floor of the bathroom and close the door, and was still unable to sleep. I ended up getting about 3 hours of sleep because of this, which left me in a zombie-like state for an important tradeshow the next morning. To the hotel's credit, they were very accommodating in moving me to a room on the other side of the hotel for the next two nights, but nevertheless, hotel guests need to be aware of this and ensure they're not put in a room on that side of the hotel."^^ . .
