But the correspondence with the estate was so abysmal I can't imagine how they would make anyone feel special on their big day. \n\nI was told on a friday that a tour on a monday would be no problem. They wanted to schedule between business hours. But my mother didn't get off work till after. Renee said she'd check, it should be no problem, but she'd check and get back to me. She did not. I called twice over the weekend and when I didn't hear back I went to visit during the business hours with just my father. The other lady in the office was annoyed she had to give us a tour and was even more annoyed when I told her exactly who I spoke to and that she had said a tour during business hours was possible but I had wanted her to check and see if we could come a little later so I could bring my mother. So we begrudgingly got a tour.\n\nin further correspondence I was assured that \"This is only preliminary pricing information. Nothing is set in stone. We want to work with you to find the best date, time, offerings and pricing.\" So, I asked Renee why the catering was more than double of other caterers and venues I had researched even though they also included flatware, service, etc... I wanted to know if it was because there were more choices, etc... Her exact words were, \"I understand there are cheaper places out there.\" I personally think that's tacky. She went on to say Alexander Homestead used quality ingredients insinuating again that other caterers cut corners. And for the 3rd time said she understood if we needed to go someplace else. \n\nAlexander Homestead was the only venue that asked about our budget before seeing he property and quoting us prices. They were the only venue that didn't follow up after our tour. I believe they are screening their potential customers. They may think they are in the top 2% but they really only want to work with the top 1%\n\nI was much happier with the correspondence at the following estates: Villa Franca in China Grove, Ritchie Hill in Downtown Concord, Johnson Carriage House and Meadows in Mooresville, & The Farms at Brusharbor in Mt. Pleasant. \n\nWe went with the Farms at Brusharbor. But honestly we probably would have been happy with any of those places. They are all run by family owned businesses that TRULY care about your big day and enjoy what they do."^^ . "1"^^ . "2014-12-31T00:00:00"^^ . . "0"^^ . .
