"24"^^ . "28"^^ . "I come from a land & time where mom & pop bakeries were scattered throughout every small town so all citizens were within walking distance of freshly baked goods. Breakfast was often a doughnut with maybe a cookie for dessert. A good lunch could be a sweet roll--you know, with frosting (we never called it \"icing\") & fruit topping--with a piece of cold meat (we never called it whatever they call it nowadays) laid on top. Then a piece of pie or cake for dessert. Though the family-run bakeries are now fewer in small-town Wisconsin the large supermarkets have stepped up to the plate & are still offering fresh, delicious baked goods daily. Oh, how I wish I could place a Wisconsin Piggly Wiggly in the middle of Las Vegas! 5 stars from all, for sure!\n\nSo I've been on a lifetime search of yummy sweets. Thanks to Yelp I discovered Pink Box & today was my first visit. I had to realize not to expect a full service bakery. I was going to get a doughnut. And unfortunately I could only afford one-you know what I mean: \"afford\" as in calories. Well, when I only get one I can't take a chance on weird flavors like bacon so it didn't take long to settle on a nice big cruller-well, that's what we aficionados call the things I think they called a \"cake bar\". (See pic.) Had to take it home so I could enjoy it with milk. OMDoughnut! It could have been made in Little Chute, Wisconsin in the sixties! It couldn't have been any fresher & the outside was just the right amount of crunch. Yum!! For only $1 it's the best doughnut I've had in Vegas.\n\nI just don't know what I'll do when I visit next.
