"2015-09-17T00:00:00"^^ . "Pure Incompetence. \n\nDr. Joffe has left the practice, and is being replaced by Elvira Quamzon-Sarreal, a Nurse Practitioner. On 9/14/15 I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Joffe. I arrived to be handed new patient paperwork, after explaining that I've been Dr. Joffe's patient for a few years, I was informed that he had suddenly left the practice a few weeks ago. I found this strange because I had scheduled the appointment on 9/3 and if he left you'd think someone would call you to let you know your appointment has been cancelled, but I digress. \n\nAnyway, after filling out the new patient paperwork and giving them my insurance information I was asked to have a seat and wait to be seen. This would have been fine, except they forgot about me and after an hour of waiting patiently I went to the receptionist and asked why people were walking in and being taken in back before me(I had an 11:30 appointment, it was now 12:30) she apologized and took me in back to an exam room.\n\nI spent another hour waiting in exam room six while hearing Elvira walk past my room 3 separate times saying \"I need the paperwork for 6, I can't see him until I have the paperwork\". Finally at around 1:30 Elvira came in to introduce herself to me as the new healthcare provider at the office. I explained why I was there, and what I needed. She said she needed bloodwork done, but since their computer system was down(during the transition) she couldn't put in an order for the labwork in the system. So I'd need to return. She advised me to return today(Thursday, 9/17/15) to have the labwork done.\n\nThis wasn't really an issue, as I hadn't been fasting anyhow. So I returned this morning at 8AM to have the blood drawn, only to be told that my insurance(Medicaid Smart Choice) was no longer being accepted. The story I was given was that Dr. Joffe was contracted with them, but since he left the practice they haven't been able to obtain a contract with them. This would have been an acceptable situation IF they told me on Monday they were no longer able to see patients with my insurance plan after I gave them my insurance information. Or a phone call saying \"I'm sorry, we can no longer see you as a patient as we no longer accept your insurance\". Instead, they just had me waste my time and gas for no damn reason.\n\nThis is just pure incompetence. When you think of healthcare providers, do you really want an incompetent one managing your health? If they don't even know what insurance carriers they deal with, how the hell can they expect to care for their patients?"^^ . "2"^^ . . "1"^^ . "5"^^ . "0"^^ . . .
