"Echoing what other people have said, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is a decent hotel with a few shortcomings.\n\nThe good:\n- It's located right beside the VIA train station. It's also centrally located so it's an easy walk to the Old Port, Mont Royal, and St. Catherine's St.\n- It has a gym and a pool (full disclosure: I did not use either)\n- Rooms are clean and have Keurig coffee machines, decent toiletries and a super zoom mirror that lets you examine your pores\n- Staff are nice\n\nThe bad:\n- The air conditioning unit is noisy and not very strong (it sounds like a slightly less noisy gas-powdered lawnmower)\n- The rooms are small (for a queen room at least)\n- The walls are thin so you can hear people talking outside\n- Internet costs money unless you sign up for the President's Club (which takes a few minutes at most).\n\nThe ugly:\n- The building itself (there's no elaborate castle-style architecture like other Fairmont properties)"^^ .
