We were on a promoter's list (See Free Vegas Passes review) and got in for $20 each (All guys so no gettin in free). We got there at about 11:40am and there was a small line that had already started to form. Lots of security to ensure a smooth entry process, and smooth it was. We got ID's checked and bags searched. Not much waiting around. As I was standing in line a Palms promoter saw my Gator bag and was apparently a fan, talking about how I should get a free cabana for being a gator. My response was \"What? I mean.... thats right I SHOULD!\" lol. He handed me his card and said if we needed some free drinks or anything to give him a call while we are in there. I said thank you and eyed his card skeptically, tossing it in my bag with my other belongings. After getting wristbanded we walk in and make a round of the area, noting that there are no pool chairs left already. The house music is going but the scene isn't quite happening yet. We find a space on the ground near a day bed to lay our stuff down and make a bee-line for the bar. I got my brother and friend a miami vice and myself a corona. $54! These people are not effing around with their prices! Jeeez! Only miniscule consolation is that their drinks were in souvenir cups which they took home with them.\n\nWe got in the pool with our drinks and took note of the usual scenario where the older rich guys are being solicited by young girls for free drinks in exchange for feigned interest. Oh the joys of people watching. As the day progressed the place started to fill up and I decided to see if the promoter would live up to his word about those drinks. I shot him a text and met up with him at the bar and he instructed the bartender to get us 3 of whatever we wanted. Figured I'd make it count so we got 3 long islands! Handed those bad boys out and the rest of the day was history! They started 3 beach balls floating around the pool and everyone started becoming more social. Several draught beers later we are all messed up and jamming to the best in house/top 40s. What a great day!"^^ . . "1"^^ .
