We loved her dance teacher Miss Mandy and the other kids in her class, but things really went downhill after her teacher left the studio.\n\nLeading up to recital, the classes were cramped and the replacement teacher/owner did not learn the routine until a few weeks after their old teacher was gone. The first week she was leading the class, she asked our 3-5 year old children if they knew the routine. Thankfully one of the other moms had a video she recorded of their old teacher leading the dance so the new teacher could learn it and we could have our kids practice at home. I was surprised that the new teacher still hadn't learned the routine by the following week. \n\nOne major problem was the lack of communication. They change things without telling the parents - such as changing the recital costumes that we had already paid for and suddenly adding a required dress rehearsal for the dance recital. They kept the flyer displayed at the studio that showed there was no dress rehearsal, and parents were not notified until much later. When parents asked about a notice or email we had not received, the business owner insisted she had sent it instead of admitted or apologizing for her oversight.\n\nThe air conditioner was not working for months, and it was brutal for all of us in the waiting area. I am not sure if it ever got fixed, but it was still not working at the time of my last visit.\n\nThey also had way too many kids dancing together in routines at the recital. In my child's group, there were nearly 20 kids all in one long line. When the recital DVD finally came in, I noticed the video had been edited to keep zooming in on the dancers on the left side of the stage and my daughter was on the far right. I spent all this money on the recital and we weren't allowed to record during the show. I am really disappointed that now that it's over, I don't get to see much of my own kid dancing in her first recital. If I knew the video was going to be edited so much, I would have taken the risk and recorded the performance with my own camera.\n\nAnother thing that happened was at the dance recital, the girls from our class were split up in different rooms backstage. Our kids were so young and only knew each other and the other moms from our class who were volunteering, so it was upsetting having to send them back to unfamiliar people instead of their classmates and trusted adults. The other classes did not seem to be split up, and some of the decisions made by the people running this studio felt like they were personal because we happened to be in the class of the teacher who left.\n\nThis place seems very unprofessional, and it is clear that Miss Mandy had been the one running the show. It could be possible that it was just growing pains for a business going through transition, but I am not sticking around to find out. I was really hesitant about writing a bad review, but I originally found this business on Yelp, and after being a customer, I know it is not deserving of such a high rating. If you read through the comments on here, you will notice that many of the good ratings are for the teacher who left, and not the actual dance studio."^^ . . "0"^^ . "2017-07-30T00:00:00"^^ . .
