I wanted to give them a second chance so I took it in again this year. This time around my experience was even worse.\n\nThe first time I received my bike from them my disc brakes were not properly adjusted. When I tried to stop I could feel that the pads were not properly contacting the discs. It turned out that one side of the brake pads was worn down and hadn't been adjusted to expose the braking surface, so only one side was hitting the rotor. Had I taken off on my bike without testing it I would have realized too late that I had drastically reduced stopping power. That could have been deadly since I ride down MLK on my way to school.\n\nThis time around was MUCH worse! Here is a brief summary of the condition that I received my bike in:\n\n- Missing valve cap (They lost it and didn't replace it)\n- Gunk remaining on cassette, rear derailleur, jockey wheels, chain rings, and brakes.\n- Still squeaky when riding (This was the main reason I took it in for a cleaning and tune-up!).\n- My rear wheel was definitely not trued. I believe this is the origin of the squeaks.\n- Front tire pressure very low\n- Front brake stuck (Another brake issue!?)\n- Front suspension still sticky\n\nThis was completely unacceptable. The condition that I received my bike in told me a number of things. First, after having my bike for 14 days they still only managed to do a rush job on it. Second, they obviously do NOT test ride the bikes that they have serviced to even make sure at LEAST the brakes work let alone to listen for squeaks. Seriously, even a 5 second test ride would have revealed these two major issues. Third, I shouldn't give them a third chance.\n\nLuckily for me I remembered the brake issue from the first time around and checked the brakes as soon as I picked up the bike. I was surprised to have the very same issue. I took it back in and waited around for 20 minutes while they fixed the problem. I didn't have time to check everything else over because I was then late for where I needed to be.\n\nThe only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they don't charge nearly as much as other places, though now I might know why.\n\nOverall, the employees are very nice and I really like the shop and their selection of tools. I just can't believe that after paying them to clean and tune my bike I received it in only a slightly better condition than when I dropped it off, worse condition if you consider the hazard that non-functional brakes presents.\n\n\n*Update*\n- I changed my rating to 3 because they have some really nice employees that seem to care a lot about their customers. I think the squeakiness in my bike was probably due to bad brakes. They fixed the problem. They also gave me a valve cap to replace the one that was lost.\n\nHonestly, I think that they do a good job especially considering how much they charge (~$45)."^^ . "1"^^ .
