"2"^^ . "I began renting from Extra Space in May of 2016. I disliked being forced to provide my banking info for automatic payments, as I prefer to choose how I'd like to pay. But the final straw occurred in December 2016. I needed a larger unit, and was told that once I paid for the new unit, I had 24 hours to move my things out of the old unit. I was going to be out of town so this presented a problem. I offered to pay to have an extra day or two, but they wouldn't allow it. I was advised that there were a few units left so just call when I was ready.\n\nI called about a week later, ready to pay the money and move into the larger unit. I was informed that the price had increased by $30 per month. It turns out the initial price I was given was a promotional rate, but nobody bothered to tell me it was a promotional rate. It would have been nice if I had all the necessary info to make a decision. Instead all I kept hearing was \"There is nothing we can do\", which is the equivalent of a verbal shoulder shrug. They even went as far as to fault me for not locking in my rate...even though I knew I wouldn't have been able to move my things in 24 hours. \n\nI expect satisfactory customer service for my money, and Extra Space Storage seems content to simply take my money while not providing any solutions.
