His father tried rushing through the emergency room visit so he could take my son on a plane the very next morning to start his visitation in another state. The nurses and doctors were all aware what he was trying to do. My son was hooked up to an IV so he could get fluids in him. Once the monitor started beeping, my son's father pressed the pause button. The nurse stated he was not to touch the button. The nurses, doctor, security and a social worker were all aware this happened, however nothing was documented and nothing was done about it as far as him having to leave. When I filed to amend the medical records to get that in writing, the emergency room manager said they don't document that because patients press buttons all the time. My son ended up having to be admitted to the hospital, against his fathers wishes. \n\nHis father didn't want to wait in the emergency room with my son until he got his own room on the children's hospital floor, so he left for the night. (Shows my son's medical concerns were not an issue to him) but again, that wasn't documented either. \n\nWhen we were admitted to his room, the doctor came in about an hour later. Dr. Jennifer M Stevens. She at first was very nice. She explained what was happening, what steps needed to be taken, etc. His father came back to the hospital hours after, his anticipation of trying to get my son out of the hospital immediately was his biggest concern. My son had to be hooked up to a catheter, had to have ultrasound after ultrasound along with Xray after Xray. \n\nWe were told we could to my son to the little play room down the hall from the hospital room we were staying in. My son was doing okay, moving around, then randomly got super lightheaded, nearly fainting. I gave my mom orders to carry him back to the room so he can rest, his fathers intentions were different, as he wanted to keep him in the playroom and have him sit for a few minutes. \n\nMy son, still, at this point was not fully hydrated. But his fathers' concerns with the nurses were still to get him out. On the way back to the room, my sons IV was moved out of place, not intentionally, but it got bumped. The nurse that we had, Dana, said he would need to replace the IV and put the IV back in my sons arm. His father was still trying to rush things.\n\nWith the nurses having our court order on file, they still went against what the papers said. They gave information only to father, knowing the circumstances. It upset me, because the next morning, a bunch of news came out that I wasn't aware of that his father was. They kept medical information from me spite the court order stating I have PRIMARY physical custodial responsibilities of the child. \n\nThat night, my sons father asked the nurses if he could sign the discharge papers that night for tomorrow morning. He did this without consulting me and without discussing this with me because he already had intentions of leaving straight from the hospital to the airport. \n\nAround 6 AM the next morning, my sons father intentionally tried to wake our son up who at this time was still hooked up to the IV, and still was the only fluids he was getting in his system, because he had to return his car to the rental place and made that clear to the doctor and nurse. Dr. Stevens said my son was clear to go, but my son had to be returned a week earlier from his fathers visitation period so he could see the Urologist here. The father said he didn't want to cut his visit short. I made it clear that I didn't think my son was ready to be discharged and wanted a second opinion. But his father refused. \n\nWith the doctor hearing his father say he wasn't going to consent to him getting treated after discussing reasons WHY he needs to see the urologist, she still sent him on his way. The very next morning, I received a phone call stating its a possibility my son needs to get surgery and he needs to be seen within 2 weeks with his urologist. It upsets me she discharged him without speaking to the urologist in the first place because of this and her knowing that he was out of state, across country. And her concerns didn't seem to be present on the matter. \n\nShe prescribed him a medication, however, didn't go over this medication with me, what its for, how often it needs to be taken or anything else for that matter. I am very disappointed in how this doctor handled the situation. And the way the medical staff acted on certain situations that came about in the hospital. They pretty much handed my son off to get medically neglected, instead of doing what they should have done and that's call CPS and get them involved to put a stop to my son having to go to PA for three weeks, when she made it clear he needs to be back a week prior."^^ . .
