"My girlfriend and I went here last night for my 30th birthday. I had booked reservations the day before through Yelp, and they called the next day with three hours 'til check-in time to remind us of the reservation and confirm we were coming. We were in Tucson visiting relatives later than we planned, and so had to reschedule for a later time the same day. They were very accommodating and moved us to the time we specified with no hesitation.\n\nUpon our arrival into the designated parking garage, I was surprised to find free valet parking for Posh patrons. I gave the 3rd party valet the keys and asked him how to get to Posh, to which he quickly and concisely instructed us up the stairs and to the right.\n\nWhen we entered Posh, we were greeted by a hostess that was very pleasant and polite, and she led us to a seating area and allowed us to pick from a variety of tables or the bar, where a two-person space had been reserved. Having been given advice from a friend about where to sit, we sat at the bar so we could watch as the meals were prepared. It was advice I would pass along to anyone reading.\n\nWe were given the 'menu', a list of ingredients to pick through and eliminate anything that didn't sound appetizing. It had choices of 5, 6, 7 Course, and Chef Omakase, which is an opportunity to try a little of everything (nearly 20 courses, our food and wine expert told us!). These are increasing in price by the number of courses, but we were informed that the total amount of food received would be the same, regardless of the number of courses chosen (which was great to know before hand!). \n\nThe proteins to choose from were: Petrale Sole, Striped Bass, Swordfish, Baby Octopus, Kauai Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Quail, Escargot (snail), Prime New York, New Zealand Lamb, Tripe, Wild Boar Bacon, and Short Ribs. This was for this night; your mileage may vary (it IS an improv dining experience, after all, right?). My girlfriend and I both opted for 7 courses, and between the two of us, nothing was left off the ingredients list. I also opted to have the wine pairing with mine, which also included pairing with the final dessert course. Before I get to the food, let me just say that the wine pairing was spot on. You can, of course, opt for a singular wine via a la carte ordering of whatever spirits suit your fancy, but I wanted the full experience (at least 7 courses).\n\nAs for the food itself, I must say that, while sometimes exotic, all of it was absolutely fantastic. This was not my first time eating baby octopus or quail or swordfish, but it was by far.. BY FAR... the best. Between the two of us, we received 14 different courses (and shared with each other), and it was just mind-bendingly delicious from start to finish. That wild boar bacon, whatever it is, gave me goosebumps. My girlfriend received it (I was jealous, having previously read a yelp review that recommended getting it if at all possible)... She sat her fork on it and with almost no pressure, cut right through it with the fork. The flavor was just unbelievable; it felt like it was melting in my mouth, but it was meat! And the longer I chewed it, the better and more flavorful it became. It was unreal. All the dishes were!\n\nAnd to top it all off, because I had reserved it with a note of it being my 30th birthday, when the 7th course (dessert) came out, I received 4 desserts, each about half the size of the one she received, but I got to sample all four. They were all... the best desserts I've ever had. Especially the one that Corissa, our wonderful food and wine expert, recommended as her favorite.\n\nEveryone there was very nice; the staff was very attentive and the chefs were all well versed with culinary expertise. The teamwork, unspoken, was very synchronized and it was interesting to watch our food dishes be prepared from start to finish. We always wondered \"is that for us? it looks so good\" and talked the night away.\n\nIt should be noted that we arrived at 730, ordered by 745 after taking a while to decide what we were doing (as this was our first visit), and spent roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes experiencing the 7 courses. This is to be expected when experiencing a dining situation based on courses, however, and should be understood prior to arrival. The four course meal would've taken less time, but we were in no rush. I had also read a yelp review about ramen night by Yuko H. and inquired with Corissa about that. Her eyes lit up with excitement as she began talking about the experience. She said it's every Tuesday, classically prepared ramen by an in-house chef that trained in Japan... It's also more reasonably priced ($12 per bowl). Needless to say, \"Ramen's going up.... on a Tuesday\"... and we will be there.\n\nAll-in-all, this has been the best dining experience we've ever had in 30 years. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back, though we're a little worried that Posh has ruined regular dining for the rest of our lives. Thanks again!"^^ . "2015-01-17T00:00:00"^^ . "5"^^ . .
