But...it was his birthday...and Shish and Medi cafes were closed\n\nOur server was very prompt and friendly - we were the only ones there.\nHe ordered the veggie falafel plate, plus a side salad, plus a cup of soup. I ordered veggie lasagne.\n\nFalafel plate was good, but not very much food for $10.95 compared to what one can get elsewhere in town. To add an overdressed iceberg and shredded carrot salad and so-so lentil soup was about $6 and both were sub-par and nothing unique - very little attention to plating.\n\nLasagne was really not good and $13.95. Way overpriced for soggy wet noodles drowned in a inch-deep pool of tomato sauce that tasted of a jar, topped with preshredded cheese from a bag. There was no hint of oven browning on the lasagne - no carmelization, just tasted microwaved and the veggies inside were minimal and bitter. A terrible dish that is so easy to make a delicious version of. No need to drown a good lasagne in sauce after it is baked - it should speak for itself. The salad that came with my lasagne was the same as his, but insultingly smaller on a tiny plate and just a few bites of the overdressed iceberg.\n\nI know people love the ambiance, but the food just isn't that good and the prices are outlandish."^^ . . . .
