Today I stopped in for lunch because I saw on their facebook page that they brought back fish sandwiches for Lent, and today was the last day of Lent, so I figured I better go try it before it goes away again. Another factor was a special I saw for today's dessert pierogies, which were Key Lime flavored, and ended up being the highlight of my meal. Backing up a bit, for my lunch today, I decided to sit in the dining room instead of the bar. The service was so much better this time than last, and the bearded hipster guy who gave me attitude last visit was nowhere to be found. I ordered the fish sandwich naked (hold the bun) and also got a sampler of three beers, \"Straight Outta Dublin\" Irish Stout, Lime Agave Wheat, and \"Beets by K\u00F6lsch.\" All the beers were solid. The fish . . . ah, it was O.K., not wonderful, and they also didn't have my preferred fish condiment, Malt Vinegar, but the tartar sauce made up the difference, and improved upon the fish. The included sides of fries, and spicy-kimchee-like slaw were pretty good. And as I mentioned above, my dessert, the Key Lime Pierogies, were a big hit . . . LOVED THEM, so creative and unique, and delicious. So overall, I was way more pleased this visit that the last one. Also, this is the first time in three visits that a manager came over and checked on me, perhaps because I was at a table, and not at the bar, but I appreciated it. Also, never noticed the local condiments at the bar the last two times, but today they were at each table in the dining room. They have local Steel City Salt Co, seasonings and also Heinz Organic ketchup . . . that is awesome. It was a Good Friday at Mindful! Hoppy Easter!"^^ . . "2017-04-14T00:00:00"^^ . .
