"Under par hotel for Las Vegas + they get one star for the way they handled my complaint. \n\nNo clue why this place currently has 4 stars. \n\nI know they get huge business from the convention center events through very effective targeted marketing and corporate room deals. They are very effective with this marketing and since they are the closest Hotel to the Convention Center they are always filled with business people. Perhaps these people feel the need to rate it higher since we are all connected through social networking these days. Who knows. \n\nI think when your company is paying for a business trip the staff members are far less likely to complain about the Hotel being under par. But that's what it is.Under Par. The Lobby looks nice but once you get up to the hallways/rooms there is a dusty type smell. The decor is this ugly green look. The wanna-be crown molding is creepy. It makes you want to hide under the bed. They rooms looked like something out of a 1950's color movie. Expect the decor looks like it's from the 1980's. Yet - at the same time it's amazingly polished with the best lipstick 2014 has to offer. I don't know of that makes sense. \n\nThe window panels and walls were thin. So you could hear the people in the next room. \n\nMy parents stayed here for a business convention in October 2013. I rendezvous with them because I was also in town for business. My father is a top corporate level executive director and marathon runner. He is in excellent physical condition for his age. He runs 4-5 miles 4-5 days a week and lifts weights in between. \n\nThe night we met in Vegas for dinner he hurt his back from the Hotels CHEAP OUTDATED HARD MATTRESS. I layed on that mattress for a few minutes the next morning and immediately sensed it was a back killer. My parents checked out the next day. \n\nIt really infuriates me that my Dad hurt his back (even though it was just for a couple days) here as a result of this mattress. This Hotel is focusing on convention center sales/marketing and not providing quality furnishings to the guests. I went back to the hotel and brought my concerns to the front desk in a polite and respectful way. I was met with close minded denial. The overworked underpaid women at the front desk claimed: \n\n\"You are the only person who has ever complained about our mattresses\". \n\nI find that hard to believe. With thousands of guests every day and after laying on that mattress for a few minutes I could sense it was too hard and old. Your telling me that not a single person has ever brought this to your attention? Not possible. \n\nAlso the Steakhouse there, It's called Envy Steakhouse, I had a delightfully bliss time with my parents but looking back the prices, even though not that high, were high in comparison to the actual food. The wine was amazing. But the steak? Not so much. \n\nAgain, I sensed that because they are guaranteed business through the Convention Center and corporate room contracts, they don't have to step up and improve their guest experience. \n\nThe lobby was very nice though."^^ . .
