"2011-11-05T00:00:00"^^ . . "1"^^ . "Aldo Shoes is like the Ikea of shoe stores... while their footwear is trendy and chic, the quality is lacking. Their footwear is also overpriced, but still more affordable than other high end retailers such as Town Shoes and Brown's. The only reason I shop at Aldo is because I am not kind to my shoes, and so I need to buy boots that I can dispose of in 2 years or so.\n\nMy review is for the Aldo located on the second floor next to the Aldo Accessories store. They have 3 locations in total within the Eaton Centre. In search of comfortable boots for winter I feasted my eyes upon a pair of calf-length boots. But of course, with my crappy luck, they didn't have my size but the sales associate said they could be ordered and shipped to the store and returned if I didn't like them. I wasn't sure about colours, so I ordered the slate grey ones and the black ones. To my surprise when I got up to the cash register I was informed that I would have to pre-pay for both of these in order for them to order the boots to the store. This should've been a fair warning as to the horrible customer service that would ensue.\n\n$249 later, they gave me my receipt with the order number which I would need to redeem my order. It typically takes 4-6 business days to receive them and they will call you when your boots arrived.\n\nI received a call about 5 days later informing me that my order was ready to be picked up. Again, fate had it that I would have tossed my receipt (no doubt when I was trying to clear out all the receipts that were bulking up my wallet). I arrived at the store, and informed them of the mishap, and they asked for my ID to retrieve my order. \n\nAlthough the order was placed at the same time, only 1 of the 2 pairs had arrived at the store. After having tried on the slate grey pair, I decided that it wasn't for me and intended to return these. \"Sorry, without your original receipt we cannot refund these. We can only allow you to exchange them.\" I guess I cannot be mad at them since it was my fault for losing my receipt, but not even a store credit? I wasn't particularly drawn to any of the shoes that they had in store, but in the end was forced to grab a pair just-because.\n\nAnother week goes by, and I have had no word from the store. I call them to inquire about my order, and they tell me now that I have to call customer service to retrieve my order number as they don't seem to have it. An email is sent and responded to 24 hours later. Reasonable. With my UPS tracking number the status of my package says it has arrived (2 days ago), and no one has called me. So I go to the store, I have my tracking number, I give them my ID and they go to the back to look for them.\n\nFirst girl comes out and says they don't have them. The same girl who helped me the first time I came to pick up my boots recognizes me and says that my order has arrived. They both re-emerge from the stock room and tell me that the wrong pair has been shipped to the store. \n\nThis is the part that seriously pissed me off. So in order for them to order my boots for me again, they have to RETURN/REFUND the pair that was sent erroneously. I'm sorry, didn't you tell me I needed a receipt in order for you to do that because your computer can't process returns without a receipt? I felt lied to and cheated! \n\nNow, not only am I stuck with a pair of shoes that I didn't like or want in the first place, Aldo has wasted my time, and has shown me just how incompetent they can be. \n\nTo add insult to injury, I later find out when I look up the SKU # of the boots I ordered (which I was told were leather) turn out to be synthetic. I've paid $110 for a pair of synthetic boots. \n\nI will never shop from Aldo Shoes again."^^ . "3"^^ . "8"^^ . "5"^^ . . .
