They replied that they try their best to educate pet parents on alternatives to declawing (elective onychectomy) , which is commendable At the end of the day however, they still choose as a clinic to perform this surgery. It is barbaric and as evidenced by the amount of countries and states who have banned it - is inhumane. What motivates this? \nThe rationale given by this clinic after educating the pet parent is \"However, if all these methods fail, we would prefer to keep our patients in a loving home than have owners feel they must surrender their family member due to behavioral issues\". I would like to suggest that anyone who loves an animal wouldn't do this to their pet. \nI would question what is deemed a \"loving home\". They can very simply say no, they do not support or perform this surgery, instead they continue to do them - regardless of the frequency - one is one too many. I urge this clinic to abolish this practice. I cannot recommend this business until they do. \n\n\n http://www.humanesociety\u00AD.org/animals/cats/tips/\u00ADdeclawing.html"^^ . "0"^^ . "9"^^ . .
