"This is a review for a Winterlicious 2018 lunch on February 5th 2018.\n\nI came here with my mom for their lunch menu -- it was the first time we both came here. I had the following:\n\nDAILY SOUP (LEEK/FENNEL)\nServed with house made focaccia\n\nLINGUINE POMODORO (VEGETARIAN)\nSweet tomato sauce with garlic, basil, mascarpone, fior di latte, pangrattato & Parmigiano Reggiano\n\nGELATO TRIO\nserved with crumbled biscotti and seasonal fruit compote\n\nMy mom picked the following:\n\nPORCINI ARANCINI (VEGETARIAN)\nFried balls of mushroom risotto with mozzarella & fiery tomato sauce\n\nSILKY SPAGHETTI CARBONARA\nSweet tender leeks with golden smoky pancetta, cracked black pepper & Parmigiano Reggiano\n\nORANGE BLOSSOM POLENTA CAKE\nServed with whipped cr\u00E8me fra\u00EEche, fresh orange & pomegranate\n\nSad to say the mains were so-so -- pasta was al dente but the sauces for the dishes were kind of lacking, but the appetizers and desserts were great.\n\nThe wait staff was a combination of a waitress and a new employee who was shadowing her for that day (first day of work) -- both were very attentive and sent out our courses when they noticed we were done with one and ready for the other. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is pretty cozy -- the interior is definitely really interesting with the cheese boards on the wall and the whole deli section inside near the kitchen.\n\nOverall, the food was satisfactory -- nothing too amazing, but a safe choice if I ever need to pick a place near Yorkdale for a meal."^^ . .
