We arrived to the party right around 6 PM whenever it was scheduled to start and were given two drink tickets and told to hang out for bit. So we parked ourselves in some chairs and did just that while talking with some other Yelp elites. Around 15 minutes later we were all told to come to the dining area of the restaurant behind the bar. Floor 2 looks amazing and stylish with a bar in the front of this L shaped space and with a dining room in the back. Once we were seated at the tables Rachel began to talk with both the chef for the day and the person in charge of the front of the house. They told us all about how they try to source as much as they can from Pittsburgh which I thought was really cool. My favorite story was how the waitresses got taken into Lawrenceville to work with someone down there for their own dresses. Once that was done Rachel reminded all the Yelpers that the food would be coming out throughout the evening and so to only like take one item at a time even though there would eventually be enough to try each of the 5 items (tuna poke, oxtail empanadas, gochujang pork belly, chickpea fricasse and something else) twice. My table happened to be first one to get our food and so I went up and grabbed one of the tuna pokes and headed back to my seat. However, other Yelpers refused to listen to Rachel and I saw them take all 10 of their pieces at once. This meant that there was little to no food left for the last table and that table had to wait around. It also meant that after I tried the poke I was forced to wait around for awhile which wasn't too big a deal to me. So while I waited I figured I would go and get a drink. Like many other Yelpers have noted in their reviews, it seemed like the bartenders were actively avoiding the Yelpers. However I probably saw it better for what it was than others. Out of maybe the 20 Yelpers that I saw getting served drinks, I maybe saw 4 people (myself included) tip the bartender. So of course the bartender is going to service the regular customers first who are probably tipping. So with that I will say, cmon guys, let's listen to Rachel and tip our servers! Our drinks are free and they are doing us a service, so let's show some gratitude! After finally getting my drink, a delicious\nPineapple daiquiri, I headed back to my table and ended up trying the other four things one at a time as they slowly trickled out. My favorite of the bunch was the gochujang pork belly which was both sweet and spicy and who doesn't love pork belly? By the time that I ended up leaving at around 7:30, there were numerous different samples sitting on the bar in the front which had been there for awhile. All of the food here was quite enjoyable and I am definitely planning on coming back in the future and bringing along my wife. \n\nThe bottom line for me is that this was easily the most frustrating Yelp event for me. While the food and everything about the event probably would have been 4 stars, it was the other elite Yelpers who helped to bring it down to 3 stars for me. It's frustrating to have Rachel give specific instructions (aka tip your servers and only take 1 item) and have fellow Yelpers blatantly disregard them. I believe that this in turn caused the shortage of food at the beginning and also helped contribute to the lackluster bar service. If memory serves me correct, the Yelp elite page makes note of something like \"Yelp elites aren't elitist\" which is something we should all remember."^^ . "2018-06-11T00:00:00"^^ .
