"Over-rated! That's the one word that describes this place. My husband and I (traveling with infant daughter) were eager to luxuriate in the W hotel experience but this place did not live up to the hype. First of all, we got there at around 12pm, and they refused to check us in until 3pm. I understand that most hotels have a 3pm check in but we had a baby! No accommodation for that? Nope. We were left to hang around the lobby like riff-raff...not fun when you have a baby that just wanted a quiet place to take a nap.\n\nAnd then there was the decor: I think they were going for post-modern/hip and swanky but they ended up with Euro kitsch. I did not feel like a rockstar walking into the lobby (which I think was the effect they were going for) rather I felt like Kid Rock. You know what I mean. And then the obnoxious techno beat that played continuously in all the common areas. it was like Muzak on meth. Gave me a headache.\n\nWe went during the Montreal Jazz Festival week so there were several families staying at the hotel. But did you know that when I went to the bathroom to change my baby's diaper there was no diaper changing station. Seriously? At a hotel that \"allows\" kids? Fatal design flaw!\n\nAnd then we finally get to go into our room. Nothing to write home about. Cheesy sky-painting, small television. And in the bathroom, the toilet paper dispenser is about a full 3 feet away from the toilet. Really? I tried not to have a mental picture of what the other guests who having discovered this while ALREADY on the toilet did. Once again, an egregious design flaw.\n\nI do give props where it is due. The legendary W bath robe was very nice. Luxurious soft white cotton robe that I lounged around in until housekeeping took it from the room by accident! (I called and it was replaced). \n\nFor how much this place costs, I don't think the experience was worth the price."^^ . . "0"^^ . "0"^^ . "2"^^ . . . "2012-08-01T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ .
