I used to live in Las Vegas and first visited the Bobby Wheat Gallery soon after he opened his doors in Tivoli Village several years ago. I was immediately drawn to his photographs and fell in love with several. I was impressed by not only the quality of his work, but also his drive and personality. Although I don't splurge on material things much, I decided to become a somewhat \"collector\" of his work and purchased seven different pieces, ranging in size from 40\" x 50\" to 20\" x 60\". Everyone who sees his work in my house is so impressed by these photos. They are stunning. Then I moved to Austin, Texas in 2013 and, in my new house, saw the potential for two more pieces, so I reached out to Bobby and purchased two others. \n\nAlthough I follow Bobby on Facebook and read the emails I get from his gallery now and again, I haven't had much other personal interaction with him over the last couple of years. Recently, my partner, at my urging, reached out to Bobby via email as he was organizing a large community fundraiser for the American Heart Association. We figured it was a \"long-shot\" but he thought he would contact him and see if he could possibly donate a small piece or something for the \"Art for the Heart\" silent auction. Bobby IMMEDIATELY wrote back (within about 5 minutes) and within a few days donated and shipped THREE separate 20\" x 20\" pieces for the auction! Incidentally, we also reached out to several of our personal friends who are amateur photographers/artists and could've donated pieces of their own (though nowhere near the quality of Bobby's work) for the auction. Although some said they would, none actually did. Yet, Bobby Wheat did, arguably one of the best photographers in the world (just read about some of the awards and recognition he has gained over the last several years). That speaks volumes about Bobby's personality, dedication to the community, love of the art of photography, and overall demeanor.\n\nWhen I purchased all of these pieces, although I acquired them first and foremost because I loved the look of them, I always hoped in the back of my mind that he would become increasingly recognized and honored as a photographer and their value would eventually increase dramatically. Although his professional trajectory is clearly on the rise, I really no longer care about the financial aspect. I'm simply honored to have such beautiful pieces of art from a truly great guy.\n\nThanks Bobby!"^^ . "0"^^ . "0"^^ . .
