"For an older hotel on the strip, not bad at all! \nI don't really know the rate, because it was part of a bus tour package deal, but I know that Excalibur usually has one of the cheapest room rates on the strip.\n\nWe came on a Monday afternoon (surprisingly a good amount of people there). I wasn't expecting much because I knew this would be a older hotel, and I have definitely been in worst during Chinese bus tours. \n\nThe room was a pleasant surprise:\n-For an older hotel, they did try to modernize the decor, and it was simple but nice. \n-Beds were comfy, and pillows supportive\n-Room temp was just right. You couldn't tell that it was 102 outside. \n-Room was clean\n-Bathroom was huge, but no bathtub. Just a big shower. Two sinks. \n-Water pressure in shower was good (so important)\n-Lots of towels\n\nWe had a room on the 8th floor of tower 2, so no real view. Service was pretty helpful though when I was looking for a way to get farther up the strip. If you want to stay near the south end of the strip, without going too far, this would be a good place to stay. I thought most areas were walkable and they even have a free shuttle to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. We ended up walking back from Cosmopolitan and it was doable, but kind of uncomfortable in 95 degree weather at 8pm at night. \n\nWhen it comes to booking hotel rooms, I usually look for great deals at higher end locations, but I think I'll consider hotels like Excalibur sometime too, because I think they have been trying to keep up with the newer hotels on the strip, in terms of room decor, amenities and spaciousness. And the cheaper rates are a plus. =)"^^ . . "2015-08-22T00:00:00"^^ . "3"^^ . "1"^^ . . .
