This review is regarding a particular independent stylist that is renting a place within the salon. Unfortunately there is no place to post an individual review about the independent stylist other than this location, so my apologies to the salon.\n\nOn December 20th, 2014 I had an appointment with an independent stylist by the name of Monet (Instagram name: Monet Crochet). I was scheduled to receive a Blowout. I was referred to her by my sister in-law and I had seen Monet's seamless sew-in work on Instagram. I was so impressed and had high hopes about my blowout looking as good as those seamless sew-ins. I spoke with Monet's booking manager regarding pricing a month prior to the appointment and she quoted me $65-$120. She explained to me that it would be on the high end ONLY if I needed a cut (not a trim). The booking manager also informed me that I would receive a consultation prior to the service to discuss the confirmed price for the service. On the day of the appointment all went well until it came time to discuss the final price (at the end of the service). By the way, I never did receive a consultation and my hair was barely trimmed. So I'm pretty much thinking at this point it would definitely be on the low end ($65 because that's what I was told). NOPE!!! Ms. Monet quoted me $125 after I had received the services. Of course I was in complete shock and I honestly didn't want to cause any trouble by arguing the price. I did ask her why the price was so high and I mentioned to her that the booking person told me $65-$120. Monet's excuse was that it was a new client fee which included a wash and treatment and that the price would get lower each time I would come back. New client fee?????? Really??? What the heck??? I told her that this information was not explained to me when I set up the appointment. She didn't make any efforts to negotiate the price or show any type of compassion. I really didn't know what to do at that point and I didn't want to display bad character, so I paid the full price. \n\nWhen I got home I felt horrible about the situation and I felt as though I was taken advantage of as a new client and as a person. I decided to reach out to the booking manager to see if something could be worked out since she was the original person to misinform me. Long sorry short, the booking manager came across very defensive. Both her and Monet were not willing to work anything out with me. In fact I was told by the booking manager that I should have known to bring more money just in case I was quoted a higher price. She also didn't acknowledge the fact that she misformed me about the new client fee and the pricing.\n\nI would definitely say that although Monet's work is great (and yes my hair looked fabulous), her customer service and business practices are terrible!!!! That totally ruined my entire experience. I think that she feels entitled because she has a lot of followers and so one bad review from a customer won't hurt her lol. I will definitely never go back to Ms. Monet Crochet again and I would not recommend others to go to her as well. Trust me, the techniques she used for her popular \"seamless sew-ins\" can be done by other stylist in Charlotte for a much cheaper affordable price. Please hear me on this....Monet is over pricing a lot of people and that is just greedy."^^ . "0"^^ .
