I've been given incompetent mechanics who leave tools in my car, been upsold and treated like a moron, and battled the regional director for a well-deserved refund. So when my old car's oil plug fell out and the car started hemorrhaging oil on I485 this past weekend, (surprise surprise, another mechanic couldn't do their job properly and put in the plug correctly), I knew I was in deep trouble with potential engine damage to a car I'd *just* gotten. Ugh. I called my insurance and was told my options for towing within a certain mile radius were a Firestone or a AAA. Go read my other reviews and guess where I went!\n\nI dropped my car off on a Sunday afternoon and AAA was closed, so I left the car and a brief description in the after-hours envelope box. They next morning, I got a call from a mechanic one minute after their opening, asking for a bit more detail. A short while later, I spoke with a manager who was honest with me from the start. We weren't sure if/how much engine damage existed at this point, and I was very nervous about it because I'd since decided to sell this car. I let him know my plans were to sell the car immediately, regardless of damage, and he presented me with a few options to make sure I'd get the most for my money and get rid of the constant financial headache caused by it. Luckily everything turned out fine and there was no engine damage detected. I felt like every step of the way, AAA was in close contact with me and 100% honest about what could happen with the engine In the end, I got my car back a little more than 24 hours later and only paid $31 thanks to an online oil change coupon. \n\nI appreciated the speed and honesty of this shop and my situation. This isn't ideal for only owning a car for a month before having to sell it back, and the guidance the manager (I can't remember his name, unfortunately) gave was so helpful, especially given my past experiences with car care. Now I have a brand new vehicle and am hoping to avoid mechanics/towing/maintenance issues for a while, but when the time comes I do hope to come back to this AAA, or maybe even sign up for a membership again."^^ .
