"2"^^ . "I had made reservations to stay here from a Friday-Sunday back in May 2017. We arrived at the hotel early afternoon on Friday to find that they had no power. Electric company was replacing a transformer and had told them they should be back up soon. We went and killed some time and returned about an hour later and before going in hear a loud POP from where the electric truck was out front. Turned out the replacement transformer blew as it was being installed. \n\nThe poor staff had people looking to check in, but no power to confirm reservations and the housecleaning crew was unable to clean rooms. They offered us one of the rooms they knew were cleaned, but the beds didn't work for our party. So we left to go to the Pirates game and got back to the hotel around midnight. They had power back by then, but because the rooms couldn't get cleaned they didn't have a room for us. Instead they paid for a room in another nearby hotel for us (Motel 6), and they did not charge us themselves for that night either. They had done that for a substantial number of guests. \n\nIn my opinion that was excellent customer service and really impressed me. The circumstances that led to this were completely out of their control, but they stepped up and did right by us. The staff was clearly under a good amount of stress, but they handled it well. For this reason alone La Quinta he's earned my business back at this location any time I come to Pittsburgh, and their other locations will get priority consideration anywhere else I go. \n\nWe came back to La Quinta the next day and got the room I had reserved for the second night of the stay. It was clean, bed was comfortable, though the room was a little on the smaller side and was a little dark. Room could honestly use some updating. The breakfast was decent, standard hotel hot breakfast. If a smaller room doesn't bother you I recommend this location for your stay in Pittsburgh."^^ . "2017-08-12T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ . . "0"^^ . .
