Josiah is a BMW master mechanic and is one of the most thoughtful and thorough motorcycle mechanics that I have ever encountered. \n\nWhen I purchased my new-to-me 2007 BMW R1200GS a few years ago it came with a clean bill of health but a few annoying things that I thought needed to be addressed. I visited a local dealer in Chandler who charged me about $300 of shop time in diagnosis fees and they found nothing wrong. Having that gut feeling that my money had been wasted I then visited Josiah when he was in his old shop in Scottsdale.\n\nJosiah greeted me himself when I rode up and said \"by the sounds of things on your ride-in it sounds like you have a valve issue.\" He then took the time to look over the bike and discussed with me the things that he saw that should be easily corrected and even offered me some advice on doing the simpler things myself to save some money. He then set up an appointment on my schedule to have the bike in for repairs.\n\nIt turns out that the dealership had neglected to even remove the valve cover to check the valves and that there was a simple mistake made by the former owner that Josiah corrected and then he performed some diagnostics and adjusted the throttle bodies, made some cable adjustments and those simple changes transformed the bike completely. I have since then taken the bike to him for more extensive services (final drive service, transmission services, replacing the ball joint gaitor and of course tire replacement) and have found his pricing on parts and service to be about half of what I would encounter at the dealerships.\n\nBMW bikes have a reputation for being both well-made but also pricey to service when it comes time to do so. Josiah has made that cost very reasonable for me and more importantly he has made me feel confident that if I have a problem with my GS in the future that the cost will be reasonable to fix it. Furthermore I feel that his knowledge of these bikes is the kind that will help save me money and hassle by being able to anticipate the future wear and tear issues so that I am not broken down on a trail somewhere with a broken 500 pound motorcycle to contend with.\n\nI will close by saying that when you visit Josiah's new shop in Mesa take a look around and see who else has their bikes serviced there; tons of local law enforcement agencies have their BMW's, their Kawasaki Councourses and other brands serviced here and rely upon him to provide consistent service and to make sure that they are reliable and safe. That to me speaks volumes for his reputation in the Valley."^^ . "2013-09-25T00:00:00"^^ . "1"^^ .
