"This not a review of the Station on Tryon Street, just some general insight about rail operations from someone who is knowledgeable on the subject. Yes, Amtrak sometimes gets delayed, but the train shares track rights on track maintained and governed by freight rail companies. I can assure however, that Amtrak is the hottest train that operates, and the priority is ALWAYS to advance Amtrak on time when possible. Currently there are vast sections of single track and occasionally a freight train has a mechanical issue in single track and that prevents Amtrak from advancing. The railroad does everything they can to rectify the issue, but as they say, trains can't just take a dirt road to get around it.\nSometimes delays are caused by safety or security concerns, which is the top priority for the railroad. The community (and rail passengers) should be thankful for this. Better safe than sorry.\nIn short, be patient, or choose another method of transportation. Amtrak and the private railroad companies do a tremendous amount of planning and careful execution to provide safe transportation.\nAs for this station, the employees are nothing but friendly and accommodating from my experience. Thanks for reading.. safe travels!!"^^ .
