I was first referred to this shop by Eddie Chen of CARS after finding out they only work on European cars. Here is how my experience went from there; I dropped my vehicle off before close on September 14th and was told by Scott that a vehicle diagnostic as well as an estimate for work would be completed by sometime the next day. I called him at 11:30 the next day to check on progress. No progress he says, he's been too busy with other vehicles but he'll get to it soon. I call back at 3:30. Scott now says he's taken the vehicle for a test drive as far as blue diamond and believes the noise I brought the vehicle in for is coming from the transfer case but he will need to get it on a lift to make sure. He promises to call me back soon with an estimate and diagnosis. At 5:30 I haven't heard from him and know they are soon closing so I text him to see if he's made any more progress and got an estimate for me. He informs me he's finished the diagnostic but I'll have to wait until tommorow for an estimate. The next morning(September 16th) at 10:00am Scott sends me an estimate by e-mail for repairs totaling $4,991.74 and stating I needed a new transfer case. UNBELIEVABLE! I bring the vehicle in for a funny noise and now he's telling me I need $5000 worth of repairs! Worse than a dealer! So anyways, I call him back to discuss the estimate and he says \"This is an estimate for you to bring to the dealer if you're going to try to get them to cover it. If your having the work done yourself that price will change drastically, but when it comes to dealers I really like to stick it to them.\" I then told Scott that I'm positive the dealer wouldn't pay for this and I wouldn't blame them. This is where I began having major doubts in 1st response auto repair. I asked him for a useable estimate and he said he would get back to me. I then called him at 1:30pm to let him know I could not just wait for days while he came up with useless estimates and ignored my vehicle and that he needed to have it ready by the end of the day so I could take it to be checked out by a transmission/transfer case shop I'm familiar with.\nHe proceeded to yell at me that he was very busy, hadn't had a chance to do these things, that my car wasn't the only vehicle in his shop, that I was no longer his priority since I'm taking my car elsewhere, and that he'd expect a $100 diagnostic fee when I got there. I said fine, just wanting this nightmare to end. I arrived at the shop at 6:00pm where Scott continued to berate me about taking my vehicle elsewhere and the condition it was in. He assured me that the other shop, whoever they are, doesn't know what they're doing and that for minor things I know I can do myself such as the brakes, that I would end up getting myself into trouble. Scott Monaghan proved himself to be an awful human being and an unethical mechanic. I have not been spoken to like that by another person who wanted my business ever before in my life.\nThe icing on the cake of this whole thing is my transmission shop checked out the car, put it on a lift, and test drove it before assuring me there's no evidence to support the transfer case being bad and that the other mechanic was guessing at best. They then declined a diagnostic fee.\nIn addition to that I went home and priced some of the parts Scott had quoted me on-\nGM Part 15801384(FT TRANS MOUNT) Quoted at $673.76 for the part by Scott\nOn-line it's $90-$115 depending on the vendor. That's an original ACDELCO part! What's with the 10x mark up?!? If anyone has any questions send me an email at nvdscott9@gmail.com. I'll gladly send you a copy of the estimate or talk to you about the worst shop experience of my life.\nDO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!"^^ .
