There are issues that remain with this resort but in the end, I'll return every opportunity I have.\n\nI was invited for a 3 night stay at the Wynn & given $100 slot credit. I'd refused these offers before but I had to take a trip in anyway so I decided to try it. Here's what I found:\n\n1) ROOMS\nThe beds & sofas are comfortable. The rooms have shades/blinds that have motorized controllers that open & close them automatically. There is also a hideaway plasma in the bedroom as well as a small flat panel in the bathroom. The room does seem a little small but I'm spoiled by the S&s properties. Additionally, most rooms are relatively close to the elevators unlike most hotel & casinos.\n...I had a couple issues though as a business traveler: Very few electrical outlets near the desk. Also Internet access - wired or wireless - at the Wynn sucked more than a 2-bit whore. Wynn's engineering folks know it & say it's systemic. The inkjet printer in the room is usable as a fax but there's no USB cable to hook it up to your PC in case you want to print directions/show tickets. @#$%.\n\n2) COMP PROGRAM (a.k.a. \"Red Card\")\nThe Red Card is your comp card - it is also your room key if you're staying at the Wynn. 150 points on your Red Card gives you 2 free Buffet passes at Wynn. This is the equivalent of playing about $450 through a slot machine, or 150 plays of 3x Maxbet $1 slots. After that a free buffet is available after 500 points which is easy to attain. \n...One issue however is that invitation-linked promo credit is not usable as match play on tables. It must to be cycled through slots or video poker which is lousy.\n\n3) CASINO\n--- SLOTS: $1 slots/Top Dollar & Pinball. Boy, their machines are loose. We played for 1hr+ on a single Benjamin each. She came out ahead by $80, I myself was up $125.\n --- BLACKJACK: The tables have RFID in them & the corners of the tables are often uncomfortably hot because of the RFID sensor's heat. Rules wise, it's mostly $25, 6 deck, 3-2, early surrender, double down on any 2 cards, split up to 4 times. The penetration is 70% which is meager but tipping can help. They do have double deck w/ minimums of $100 during the day, $200 during the evenings.\n--- DEALERS: The dealers here have a personality & they seem to actually avoid the \"robotic stare\" that so many other casinos have. Note to dealers: I toke dealers I like that enhance my gambling experience not those that sneer. Yes, I'm talking to you MGM Grand.\n\n4) RESTAURANTS\nAll of Wynn's restaurants are excellent & separated from the chaos of the casino. We've been Country Club, Okada, Alex, Terrace Pointe, & of course the Buffet. We had a really nice candle lit meal at Country Club with a view of the golf course & the view was so pleasant that my wife said, you really could forget that you were in the middle of Sin City. \n\n5) ADULTS ONLY\nThe hotel is entirely 21 & over. Kids must be escorted. Yay.\n\n6) SUNSET POOL\nDuring the weekdays, Sunset Pool at Wynn is an Adults-only, European Bathing area segregated from the rest of the chaos of Wynn's pools. If you want a \"no kids\" zone, where you can sip cocktails in the pool, then this is a peaceful, enjoyably mature place to bake & mingle. It's like a cocktail party where couples can get back to concentrating on each other - all without the chaos of other pools like the Venetian or the sheer boredom of the Palazzo pools.\n...this is definitely my favorite pool to be at as a married man & one the primary 6 reasons I will return.\n\nISSUES: \"REGISTRATION\"\nThis is the worst aspect about Wynn - their general registration is crowded & disorganized. Registration at the main entrance is fueled by tips. Getting to the registration desk quickly may require a $10 tip. Getting a high rise room near the elevators may require a $20 tip. \n\n(My review exceeded the 5000 char limit of Yelp. If you're interested in reading it in its entirety, please go to:\nhttp://kurtsthoughts.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!97895BBB8AD10F37!959.entry \n\nCONCLUSION\nGreat hotel. There're some room for improvement but it's definitely top shelf.\n\n5-stars.\n\n------------------\n\"ADD AS AN ENEMY\"\nAfter seeing a couple of really colossally thoughtless reviews of Vegas hotels, I started to wish there was a feature in Yelp that allowed you to not just \"Add as a Friend\" but also, \"Add as an ENEMY\". It would hide all comments & reviews by that person tacitly saying, \"You sir/madam represent the opposite of my tastes on Yelp. I drink your milkshake.\"\n\nHere's a list of people that I'd add auto-tag as \"Enemies\":\n- People that give 'Treasure Island' 5-stars\n- People that gave 'Wynn' 1-star\n- The 2 dudes that gave 'Hot & Juicy Crawfish' less than 4 stars. \n...seriously, what are you people thinking?"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
