For any other \"real\" city I'd say, eh, whatever, but here it's possible a respite can be found from the extreme horror that is the rest of the \"city.\"\n\nIt was DEAD here on my visits because of the weather, but I was able to glean a few things:\n\n--More of an attempt at \"less is more\"--smaller shops and restaurants, and a small entertainment area for live music.\n\n--Decent restaurants and bars, including artisan cocktails.\n\n--Too many sweets-only shops. Doesn't seem sustainable that around six places can sell only candy and survive.\n\n--Retail stores here are kind of cheap. Made in China kind of junk. Would have expected more boutiques highlighting locals.\n\nWhat's really to like is both the less-is-more approach with a walkable area and the lack of gaudiness that is the Strip, and the attempt to be green, the only one I saw citywide. There are actually multiple stations for recycling, trash, and compost--separately. I never saw this anywhere else in this town of excess and waste. For that reason alone, I hope more businesses and developers can find inspiration here."^^ . . "4"^^ . . "2"^^ . "4"^^ . .
