"I called them last night to have the pilot on my water heater lit, a 5 minute job. The dispatcher said the service call would be $79 and the total cost would be pretty close to $79 since it was a 5 minute job. I did tell them all that was needed was a propane torch and a mirror. A few minutes later, I got a call from the actual tech. He said the job would cost (a) $180 and then (b) $218; $79 for the service call (diagnosis and recommendations) and $139 for labor. I gulped. He did suggest I use a long lighter and do it myself. He then told me he was in Fisher, IL as if that ought to matter to me; I had called a Champaign company. There was nothing to diagnose and lighting it would have taken no more than 5 minutes. I think the radio ads are rather misleading."^^ . "0"^^ . . "0"^^ . . "0"^^ . "2018-01-14T00:00:00"^^ . "2"^^ . .
