My appointment took 1 hour and forty five minutes, even though I repeatedly said that I needed to be back to work. The doctor/nurse made me change into/wear a paper gown and face mask, even though one of my only pains was a sore throat. I explained to the doctor that I have had Strep C a few times before, and that I believed that this was what I had currently. He said that I would not have body aches with Strep C and that antibiotics were not necessary even if I did have Strep C. I actually cried out of frustration during the appointment because I felt so unwell and didn't want to give my coworkers Strep.\n\nI visited an UPMC urgent care in Shadyside the next day because my fever was over 100 degrees and I was unable to swallow fluids. I was in and out within 35 minutes. I was not required to wear a paper gown or answer the same questions over and over again. The doctor took one look at my throat and said that because it looked like Strep, she would prescribe me antibiotics and call me if the culture came back negative. From the antibiotics, I was feeling somewhat better within a few hours, and I was able to swallow water without pain within a day. I got a call three days later that I did in fact have Strep throat C/G and to continue taking the antibiotics. \n\nJUST TODAY, eight days after my Concentra appointment, I got a call from the doctor saying that my culture was positive for strep throat. Even though Concentra is next to my place of work, I will never be back!"^^ . "2015-05-13T00:00:00"^^ .
