. "10/17/15\nMe: I need a Saturday brunch spot that kicks butt. \nMy friends and coworkers: You must go to Terrace Cafe! \nMe: Well Ok!\n\nBrunch is my favorite meal. I've been spoiled by all you can eat, everything included brunches...thanks DC :) so it's hard to find anything comparable to that experience in another city. I went ahead and decided to give Terrace Cafe a shot since it was so highly recommended by my friends and coworkers. \n\nWe arrived around noon and were seated within ten minutes of arrival. I put my name on the waitlist while my friend parked the car. Our table was ready before she entered the restaurant; the waitress stated that all party members, even though it was just two of us, need to be present before being seated. Luckily, my friend stepped in the door a few minutes after the news so this requirement didn't pose a problem for the beginning of our dining experience. Our drink order was taken and we were given a few minutes to look over the menu. I asked the waitress for her recommendations, she told me two of her favorites but really didn't sell me on either as her recommendations were short, sweet, and lacked detail. I was a bit surprised by the lack of information and decided to go with what looked good to me :). \n\nMy go to breakfast is French Toast, eggs, sausage or bacon, and hashbrowns. Here the French toast stands alone as a menu item...bacon, eggs, etc are ala carte. This one little detail definitely influenced my final decision. I went with the Full Breakfast (Two eggs over easy, chicken apple sausage , cheese grits, and substituted one slice of French toast for the two pancakes). Oh yeah, they have strict guidelines for substitutions and there is a charge to swap the pancakes for the French Toast. The French Toast was dense and lacked flavor. I saw what looked like cinnamon and maybe nutmeg sprinkled atop the bread but definitely did not taste it. The chicken apple sausage was delicious; I would definitely order that again. Finally, the eggs over easy and cheese grits were the most well prepared breakfast items for today's visit. Based on recommendations from trusted sources, I was expecting a better breakfast experience. I hope that my next visit will be more eventful."^^ . "2015-10-19T00:00:00"^^ . "2"^^ . "1"^^ . "3"^^ . .
