Peruvian is my favorite cuisine so I was really excited.\n\nThe food was pretty good but I just can't get excited about this place. It was honestly a little bit sad. There was one other table there when we arrived and nobody else walked in the entire time. It was weirdly quiet. There was only one server/host/possibly the chef and dish washer because everything took FOREVER. Like an absurdly long amount of time. I feel bad saying this, it's almost like I'm criticizing the kid sitting alone in the lunchroom. \n\nI was excited to order one of the awesome looking ceviches on the menu. Unfortunately, they weren't serving ceviche that evening. Ceviche is probably the quintessential Peruvian dish, so I thought it was weird or at least weird that he didn't say anything as soon as he gave us our menus.\n\nWe did get a complimentary bowl of very tasty soup. My beef tenderloin dish, which is apparently Surco's specialty, was very good. However, it wasn't cheap. \n\nI hope Surco does something to improve the experience because I want to love it so badly!
