My AC only worked on the highest setting and it squealed. I dropped it off so they could check it out. I received a call back 4 hours later and this is what was said: \"My friend, you're going to need a whole new AC system that will cost around $1200 to replace\" I was shocked and I said i couldn't afford it, he said he could do a partial fix for about $800, again I said no. Then he said he could cut me a deal with the labor and pushed it down to $500. I guess anytime some one calls you \"my friend\" on the phone be weary... Anyway, I went to Fred Marsh and Firestone and they BOTH said I just needed a new blower motor (and they both were going to charge anywhere from $200-$450). I went out and bought my own blower motor and installed it in less than an hour. Cost me $80 for the part and about a total of 3 hours of my time researching the part, buying it and installing it. I'm not sure if it's a misdiagnosis by Sun Auto or if they were just trying to get some money out of me, either way I'm glad I didn't cave in just because it was a bit warm. \n\nAlso, as I walked out of the door the sales rep said \"It can get hot out there, good luck\". Read into that what you will, but I learned my lesson. $1200 down to $80, lucky me."^^ . . "2015-10-01T00:00:00"^^ . . .
