My daughter and and I were out with my Mom and Aunt in the mall and were shopping all the anchor stores. We entered Sears and I immediately find a blouse that I wanted to purchase so, I ask my Mom to grab one in my size while I entertain my toddler in a rented mall stroller. No one wants to hear a cranky toddler while they are shopping and no one likes being that cranky toddler. We end up near the escalator and my mom was going to put the shirt on the stroller because she has an autoimmune disease that makes her hands weak. However; because historically when I have used a stroller to hang items, for some reason it raises suspicion so, I carry it while walking with the stroller\n\nSeconds later we were followed by an a employee. We made laps because shopping with a toddler is not an easy task and I wanted to be sure I was finding items I liked. This employee made the laps with us despite not actually doing any work, like restocking or helping a customer, she was just following us. I have been followed before, that is not a new or unique situation for me so, as irritating as it was I can deal with it. I also know that I am not above suspicion. Anyone can be a thief. \n\nLess than twenty minutes was spent in Sears and we only visited three departments and this employee followed us for at least fifteen minutes. When we are about to pay for the one item out of maybe five that we touched, the employee was leaned against the jewelry case next to the cashier and register staring at us. She and I caught eyes and she, not very sly, shot her eyes downwards but her posturing was that of a disapproving middle school teacher. I decided that the shirt was not worth this grief. \n\nIf this were an isolated incident at this Sears then maybe I could get past it but it is not. Yesterday the employee went out of her way to make us uncomfortable when we were excited to be shopping. She also blew a larger sale because my husband was looking at a toolbox that is over $500 as well as a second carseat at over $200. We will no longer be shopping Sears, and again I understand that no one is ever above suspicion (long family history of working in law enforcement, even had friends that worked at that Sears in loss prevention in high school) I do not feel that it was right to alginate us so blatantly. It is no wonder the Sears is not thriving if this is how customers are treated. The employee was fixated on our party and looked at little else for that short time visiting the store, I just don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore."^^ . "1"^^ . . .
