"There are a lot of Thai restaurants in Toronto.\nThere are a lot of good Thai restaurants in Toronto!\nBut, Mengrai is definitely a restaurant that stands out from the others!\n\nFor starters, it's not loud and trendy. You can hear each other talk!\nI like that you can make reservations here and have a nice dinner with amazing thai food!\n\nThe restaurant has a few parking spaces in front, but it's not too far a walk from Queen subway station. The space is much larger and decorative than I expected.\nThe gold buddha and elephant wall statue is a nice touch! Photo worthy!\n\nWe were seated by the window and the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful.\n\nOkay, the lychee martinis are freaking amazing.\nLike, I want a pitcher of martini amazing.\n\nFor an appetizer, I really enjoyed the Divine Crispy Morning Glory and pumpkin soup ($9.00). The soup was sweet with a nice kick. The fritters were crispy and delicious!\n\nThe tenderloin with pomegranate tamarind reduction ($22.95) was sweet and savoury. I really enjoyed the flavours! However, they undercooked the beef. :(\n\nWe also had the popular red Chicken curry with lychee and pineapple ($18.50).\nThe presentation is really pretty since the curry is served in a carved out pineapple. The portion was large as well, I really loved this dish with coconut rice!\n\nFor dessert, we had the pineapple cheesecake with coconut ($ 8.50) and the \n mango snowball with ginger ice cream ($4.00). Both desserts were excellent and not too sweet! I'd have to say that out of the two, I preferred the mango snowball. It was different and the ginger ice cream was surprising not too gingery and I really liked the textures of this dessert.\n\nOverall, we had a wonderful dinner here. However, there were a few hiccups with the service but the food was great! I'll be back for sure. :)"^^ . "4"^^ .
