"I had tech (Matt Z) come out to my place Saturday 11/25/17 for a $159.95 service call, measured amps on my air handler (inside unit), told me blower motor capacitor was low and then went into a sales pitch for service etc... and after I declined to put out more money that I felt was unnecessary at time because my system is under warranty. He went out to say that he wouldn't be able to do anything about the capacitor until it goes out because that is how the warranty works. I completely understand that, so I said when it goes out I will call to have it repaired/replace. I asked if he could replace the screws in my vent door, as the initial install the tech partly stripped a few of the screws, which have only gotten worse over the last few years since the purchase. He said he didn't have the right screws, and then asked if I had a nut driver because the screws he has are nut head screws and offered to leave me some when he left but they are at least twice the length of the screws that are currently used to close the vent door (more on this below). Then he went into a partial sales pitch on the portion of the unit on the roof about cleaning coils, etc... I expressed that it was my understanding that this was part of the $159.95 service call he was there for, and he recognized that yes that was the service he was here for. He went and grabbed his ladder, went to the roof and was back at my door in no more than 10 minutes (on the generous side, probably 5 minutes), to tell me the unit is fine and nothing needed to be done and how he didn't do something because it wasn't necessary and by doing it I could/would lose freion sp? which is $200 lb when needed. \n\nSo I expressed my displeasure for the price I was paying for which was technically nothing, wasn't belligerent or rude in anyway because it is what it is, but still disappointing that a company could charge $159.95 to a customer that paid around $4,000 to purchase a whole system less than 5 years ago, not to mention had pretty much the same service 1 1/2 early for $59.95.\n\nSo after he was gone for a while I opened the vent door to see if I could replace the screws because when he said they were nut head I figured they would only have a nut head and no screwdriver ability. The screws, yes are nut head but also have a flathead screw driver slot in them so could be done with a flathead screwdriver, except for the fact that they are nearly an inch long and the ones in the door are maybe a quarter inch. When I realized the screws were much longer than what was in there I decided to not mess with it at this time and will have to deal with it myself when I can get some shorter screws that are more like what is in the vent door now. Oh and not to mention now one of the screws isn't lining up and isn't secured. \n\nSo essentially I paid $159.95, to get more work for myself, nothing done to my units (indoor air handler and AC unit on roof), a magnet for $50 off my next service and a paper directing me online to fill out a review that is also good for $50 Cool Cash for a future service call. Which something tells me I will only be able to use one of these and not both the next time I have a service call but I guess we will see if/when that time comes. Plus I feel when I had my last service call in I want to say April 2016, I did write a review for the same reason (to save on the next service call) and there was no indication/record or at least not mentioned to me when the scheduler called to set an appointment or when tech came to my place. I only just remembered this now as I am wrapping up this review."^^ . . "2017-11-26T00:00:00"^^ .
