"I waited 2.5 hours for this tea and didn't die.\n\nYes I'm complaining about the wait but of course that's my fault for going in on opening day & while they were running their BOGO promotion on select teas. \n\nMade the trek through this terrible shopping center, known at the Arboretum (twice actually), cause I've heard about this place for months & wanted to see what all the hype was about. KFT is located at the same strip as Qdoba. It's next to TLC Cleaners. I know this because I stood in front of TLC Cleaners for like 30 minutes.. Meh. \n\nHopped in line around 3:55, roughly 70+ people ahead of me (just outside), mostly high school kids. KFT will probably be very popular with the PHS crowd. Well the Asian crowd, anyway. Even though I'm half Asian, I felt slightly out of place. While waiting, I heard some kids who ordered earlier say it took about an hour to get through the line to order & another hour for the KFT team to make the drinks.. WTF? That should've been my cue to leave & try this place another time but I was determined to try it today. It was about 85 degrees outside but not too bad, especially compared to the inside! As I got closer & closer to the entrance, I was so looking forward to getting blasted with cool air from the AC, but of course it wasn't working! The wait inside wasn't too bad the first few minutes but then it became horrible, almost unbearable, like being stuck in a sauna with a hundred other people. I could feel my face melting off. Not pretty. At least there were a few stools you could sit on. Meh. \n\nAnyway I finally got up to the register a little before 5:00. I was originally going to order 2 medium teas but figured since I waited so long, I ordered 4 large teas instead. Prices are extremely reasonable, ranging from $2.50-6.25 depending on what size & type of tea or coffee you order. Add-ins such as boba, Oreos, & different types of jellies cost 50-75 cents extra, depending on what you get. I kept it simple & ordered 2 larges of each, Green Tea Passion Fruit & Kung Fu Milk Teas. Less than $10, after tax & the promotional discount. They told me it would take about 45 min-1 hour to make & I could see why! There were STACKS of cups on the counter, just waiting to be filled with delicious tea & jellies & whatever.\n\nI ended up going back home. Came back to KFT around 6:00, expecting my order to be sitting there but of course it wasn't ready yet. There were still 7 orders ahead of mine but surprisingly I only waited about 15-20 more minutes, though I was anticipating at least another 30. FINALLY they called out my order number & I was more than happy to grab my bag & gtfo there. \n\nSo I finally got home again & tried the teas. The Milk Tea was yummy, pretty strong tea flavor and not overly sweet. Not watered down either, thank goodness, unlike the chai tea I had in ATL over the weekend. (It was not at a KFT though). The Green Tea Passion Fruit ended up being my favorite, since I prefer juice-based drinks rather than milk-based. Super refreshing and tastes very similar to the one at Crispy Banh Mi on South Blvd, but just without the basil seeds and stuff, lacking any sort of textural element. \n\nAnyway don't let my review scare you off! I'm sure in due time, this will end up being at least a 4 star place, like other bubble tea establishments around town. I'm just mostly annoyed that I waited such a long time & it was ridiculously hot inside. I would come back here but when the hype dies down & definitely at an off time. There are so many delicious sounding drinks to try! For those of you who want to try KFT, do it! But don't be a doofus like me & wait over 2 hours for this. Don't even wait more than 20 minutes for this. Just don't. It's freaking tea.\n\nTL;DR\n4 stars for the product itself & friendly staff \n2 stars for the extremely long wait time & AC not working on opening day"^^ . . "6"^^ . "7"^^ . . "4"^^ . .
