"AA is the worst airline I have ever had the displeasure to fly on. While their prices and schedules seem good they screw you over by always being late and not giving refunds or credits on flights you have booked. Our misadventure started on our morning flight to Phoenix where we were to catch another AA flight to Puerto Vallerta. After boarding we were informed that there was a technical problem. The secondary GPS system was down and we would have to wait until daylight to take off. This delayed our flight over an hour and we missed our connection. The flight attendants assured everyone on the flight that their connection flights would be re-booked and we could get them when we landed.\n\nUpon landing the first AA customer service booth was staffed with two people and the line quickly blossomed into about 30 plus people. When I reached the counter I was given a flight for 1pm. I already knew the next flight was at 11:30am and it was currently only 10am. I asked the attendant to check if there was room on the next flight, there was and he put us on it.\n\nAfter boarding the 11:30am we were all told this flight was delayed because the pilot who was supposed to fly it was delayed on yet another flight. Are you starting to recognize a pattern here? The flight attendants advised us it could be a two hour delay and they almost never cancel flights to Puerto Vallerta! At this point my coworkers and I considered trying to get put back on the 1pm flight. However I reasoned that every flight so far has been delayed and what are the chances that the 1pm flight would be on time? After about 30 minutes the attendant announced that another pilot had been found and we should be ready for takeoff in about an hour.\n\nWe finally arrived in Puerto Vallarta around 5pm we were supposed to arrive at 1pm so we lost the entire daylight portion of our stay at our resort and trust me it was not cheap. Upon arrival at the resort we talked to other coworkers who had also been delayed by American Airlines due to not having a pilot!\n\nOur flight home was also booked on AA and it was a good thing we checked in early. Somehow our reservation was for 2/2 instead of 1/30. I asked if they could transfer us to today's flight. They advised that there was a $258 dollar per person transfer fee. I asked if they could give us a discount due to all of the delays we had on our trip to Mexico. The flight for today ended up being booked so they came up with an alternate trip that would cost $340 pp. By the time the supervisor came over and explained he couldn't give us a discount the alternate flight was also full. Now the attendant began working on yet another route but we had already found a flight at Southwest that would get us home earlier for $208 which was $50.00 cheaper than the transfer fee American wanted to charge us! \n\nWhen I got home I contacted AA and they advised there were no refunds or credits on these flights even though they hadn't actually occurred yet since they were booked for the wrong day 2/2/17. They did give us an option of paying another $250 to be given $383 in future travel on AA. I told them you must be a freaking moron if you think I would pay more money to have travel credit on the worst airline I have ever flown on. I ended up not cancelling my flights since there was no refund or credit so AA could not resale my tickets. Never ever fly American Airlines it is a disgrace to be named after our wonderful country."^^ . "3"^^ . . . "2017-02-08T00:00:00"^^ . "1"^^ . . "14"^^ . "3"^^ .
