I was in the store earlier and picked a battery to replace a failed battery that was still under warranty. I was told when I purchased it, to bring the old battery back tomorrow and they would test it then refund me my partial credit since the battery was over three years old. Robert then told I had to bring the battery in before I got the replacement and that I was going to receive only a $19.00 core charge. That is not what the clerk that sold me the battery told me what to do. Not even one hour elapsed between my purchase and the return of the defective battery. I was told the clerk that sold me the battery was new and that didn't know any better. Not my problem. I did what I was told. I was stunned to hear the manager Robert scream F*** it and he doesn't care if he gets fired for the other clerk to give my the $55.00. I asked him if really wanted to lose a loyal , long time customer over this and he said he didn't care. Take my business elsewhere. He was yelling this. What do you think the other clients in the store were thinking. I have returned several warranty batteries over the years to this same store and never had a problem. I really don't care about the $55.00, i just don't know what to do with an old battery. AutoZone, you can certainly do better hiring and training you staff than this. Also, your terms on the warranty say nothing about bringing the battery in first. I would appreciate a call from a regional manager or above to discuss this matter further. You can PM me for my phone number."^^ . "0"^^ . "1"^^ . "1"^^ .
