I live way on the other side of town by Summerlin and it was worth the \"trip.\" Still $2 to enter and at that price I felt like I was swindling the folks who run this place. You can tell the owner/manager is passionate about what he does - buildings have been MOVED here so we can experience them. While the indoor exhibits offer a good deal of artifacts, info, and hands-on items, Heritage Street is definitely the museum's highlight: a series of homes from different periods in Clark County's history lined up and generously shaded by large gorgeous trees. Quails and desert cottontails zip and dart throughout the grounds. You'll see mannequins inside the homes and in the exhibits to help add to the \"experience\" but I don't feel they detract, instead they add a an almost appropriate twist of kitsch and quirk. After all, Vegas has always had an element of kitsch in its public image. \n\nI visited in early June, just as the valley was reaching 100 degrees so it wasn't ideal strolling weather, but I plan to visit again once the cooler months approach. The gift shop also carried a good selection of books."^^ .
