A car smelled too.\n\nToday, I decided to get Clean Air Cab. I placed an order online, I got a confirmation call right away. So far - good.A driver arrived 7 min earlier and called me right away. This car also smelled. \nI handed a guy a printout from Clean Air Cab website, but he refused it since he already had all information entered. \n\nHere I made a mistake. I relaxed and started texting.\n\nI raised my head when he casually asked me to give him a piece of paper he did not take earlier. I handed it to him, and noticed that a meter was showing $38 already... we were not even close to the final destination. My total was supposed to be around $33. I questioned him about it. I said 14 miles X 2.10 + pick up fee of $3 should be my total. He played fool and said he did not know why the fare was already so high. I looked at his navigation and saw that it was stuck on a screen where the address was listed as N Power Rd when it was supposed to be South. I pointed that out, and he explained that his navigation does not have South Power and switched to North (Garmin). He just noticed it and that's why he asked to confirm my address. Mmm... Really? Ok, then adjust the fare. He kept saying it is what it is and that's how it was calculated - nothing about the adjustment.\n\nI realized that it won't be easy; it will be a fight. I stopped arguing and snapped photos of his license + front with frozen navigation on a wrong address and a meter approaching $44. \nAfter that he made a call to the dispatcher and asked how much I was supposed to pay. \nThen he added that he never intended to charge me whatever was on the meter. Yeah. I paid $32 via CC. I gave him $5 tip because I had it in my hand from the beginning of the trip. I know he did not deserve it, but the guy was young. All people make mistakes. \n\nOn the way back I called Discount Cab because I realized that Clean Air also had bad taxi drivers. They all do - does not matter which company. It seems to be that a trick with Navigation is a recurrent feature nowadays. \n\nI really do not want to monitor the road every minute and make sure they are taking a correct route. I want to relax. I'm disappointed that I had to argue by the end of the trip.\n\nMy experience with another company was great this time around. I got an honest guy. It is always a gamble with taxi companies. One day it is bad, another - it is good. Companies should make it easy to rate drivers, and then remove dishonest ones - they don't do any good to their reputation."^^ . "4"^^ .
